Canoe Trip 2010
Another great trip was done in 2010. This time however we started in Norway and worked our way down to the border with Sweden. The fishing wasn't great as the water was quite high. We never saw any rapids until the last day....
The first day was a bit miserable. We got into the canoes in a downpour and started off cold, wet and a bit worried. However, we soon set up camp tied down the canoes and had a great meal. The next morning we awoke to find our canoes floating over the little island we had put them on. The water had risen about a half meter that night! The next day we floated and found some spots to fish. We caught a few grayling and trout, but nothing spectacular. Finally however the last night we ended up near a waterwall. The trip down the fall was not fun, but we made it! The fishing below was incredible. After a few days of wet weather we had a great day! It was dry, sunny and warm. And...the fish were on! We caught countless grayling and trout and went to bed happy with a lot of beer and fish in our stomachs! We then fished again the next day and ended up down in Sweden. All in all, a great trip!

Canoe Trip down Görälven (Stöten-Sälen) 2009
From September 25-27th, Johan, Morisson, Dan and I travelled down Görälven from Stöten (near the Norwegian Border) to Sälen. We travelled by canoe, Johan, Morrison and Dan in one canoe and me alone in the other. It was an amazing trip! Amazing, and TIRING! We hit several sections of rapids along the way, and it was definitely a bit scary, but fun. Along the way there were lots of nice places to fish, and we managed to catch quite a few nice grayling. I would definitely recommend this trip to anyone, but there are some tips and things I would/wouldn't do along the way! Next time we will be more prepared!
Sälen 2008
The first trip made to Sälen to fish by "Team Flannel" was in September of 2008. An awesome adventure to say the least. We ended up driving up with my then Ford Fiesta and a crapload of gear. The first night was COOOOLLLLDDDD. We made a GIGANTIC fire to stay warm and drank lots of beer and bad whiskey. The next two days we found our "Gem." There are plenty of nice places to fish along the way, but we ended up catching a nice sulphur hatch in the mid day heat. Amazing fishing ensued, and we were "hooked" on coming back again!
Tips:
Dalälven is a big river, but in some places it has a nice charm to it. Many spots are flat with not much current, but just before and after sections with rapids, you will find good fishing for the predominant fish, grayling.
