Österdalälven and Rotälven (Älvdalen)
Our first trip to Österdalälven (Älvdalen) resulted in a lot of driving around to find a good spot where we could camp and take advantage of Allemansrätten. Due to high river conditions, we ended up fishing on Rotälven. This river is a little gem. Lots of nice holes and a good population of both brown trout and grayling. We even saw some moose!
As you can see we kept a few fish to cook, and even had some sashimi of a nice brown trout. Was a great trip, though we saw quite a few people fishing there.
Tips:
A good pair of felt sole waders and possibly with studs would work good here due to some slippery large stones.
